The 2018 Creators Wanted STEM Awareness Campaign, managed and delivered by Samsung, is an educational campaign designed to show students how skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) are becoming increasingly relevant across all industries and future career paths.
In 2018, Creators Wanted – ‘This is a STEM Job’, will challenge perceptions and stereotypes of what ‘STEM jobs’ look like. ‘This is STEM Job’ will focus on building an emotional connection with STEM and making it a conversation for every group of teenagers in Australia.
‘This is a STEM Job’ is a collaboration between Samsung and Questacon open to young people aged between 12-25 years old, giving them the chance to live and breathe their dream job one-on-one, with a STEM creator of their choice in the form on a one-day internship. The lucky winners will snap up flights from their hometown, transfers and accommodation (for them and if under 18 years old their parent or guardian) and Samsung tech including a Galaxy Note9, Gear VR and Tab S4.
We want as many young people as possible, from right across Australia, to have the chance to enter. To enter, we encourage them to submit a piece of work in response to a brief, and they will then have the chance to win an internship to kick start that STEM career. Together, we hope that we can help change perceptions of STEM and help students see the potential of developing skills STEM.
